might be gone a little more than usual in the next couple weeks to focus on art & books. Too much tv and internet these days.

Speaking of books, do you guys have any you recommend? I'll read pretty much any genre, Harry Potter and Twilight excluded.

We don't really get autumn here in central Texas, in the sense that the leaves don't really gradually change from green, to orange, to red, or in the sense that we have a prolonged period of perfect weather. Our period of perfect weather is so brief that I feel like I need to take advantage of it. I've been outdoors so much lately. It's calming, and gives me a sense of contentment to be outside.

I can't wait to be in a place where this weather occurs more than two weeks out of the year. I can't wait to be in a place far away, and start the next phase of my life. But until then, I'll be ok, because I have a place of refuge.

Who wants to stay cooped up inside all the time?

Love Street certainly put things into perspective for me. How many people around us could we show love rather than tearing them down? How often do we seek our own pleasure rather than the pleasure of others?

It has been said that happiness is only real when shared with someone else, but here I ask another question: is happiness the ultimate goal? I'm not convinced that it is. Love is the goal, happiness is simply a by-product.

So as we go back into or work week, school week, vacation week, let's try an experiment. Rather than seeking our own happiness, let's work toward the happiness of others through love, and see what happens.
